Brought up on the Isle of Skye, Duncan MacPherson, a driven and single minded self-starter, quickly demonstrated the ability to put his skills and knowledge into practice. Born with natural artistic flair and creative talent he began his own business in 2005. MacPherson Signs was established after Duncan had worked within the sector for several years. Following his decision to seek a change in career, he went on to study Civil Engineering at UHI Inverness after gaining invaluable experience within local contractors, where he was held in high regard. Upon graduating, Duncan secured a position as Site Engineer at Balfour Beatty and worked on projects which included Kessock Bridge refurbishment, SSE’s high profile Beauly Denny 400kV transmission line, Tummel and Spittal Substations. February 2015 saw Duncan proving his proactive and positive attitude once again as Global Infrastructure called on his services where he remains today, continuing to work on a number of prominent projects. Duncan’s business acumen has seen the development of infro.co.uk, which reports on energy, construction and infrastructure news in the north of Scotland. He hopes to use his vast practical experience to implement a renowned platform for industry headlines for the months and years ahead.
